Blue Ribbon used at the Horse of the Year Show
West Hants Mounted Games Team have been pleased to use the Blue Ribbon Wood Pellets as their bedding of choice at Horse of The Year Show for the last 2 years.
Stabling a team of 5 games ponies for the week at the NEC poses some challenges. The stables are erected on the concrete car park and on a very wet week the stables can flood so we need a bedding that provides comfort and warmth against the hard floor but is absorbent enough to cope should we have a wet week.
Blue Ribbon wood pellets have ticked all our boxes, used as a deep litter bed the ponies legs were well protected and after some torrential rain our stables stayed dry with the rain water being absorbed by the pellets keeping the top layer dry for the ponies. The grooms found the pellets easy and quick to muck out, a huge benefit with 5 ponies to keep immaculate all week and they also had minimal wastage making it an economical choice. It also had the benefit of being almost dust free, despite being stabled 24/7 none of the ponies were coughing or having any respiratory issues using the Blue Ribbon. We were so pleased with the bedding that several of the team have now changed their bedding at home to Blue Ribbon pellets.
As well as competing for the much coveted Prince Philip Cup at HOYS there is also a fiercely fought tack and turnout competition, judged over the week by various Pony Club officials and visitors to the stable area such as the Household Cavalry and showjumpers such as Joe Stockdale. West Hants are the proud winners of this trophy for the 3 years in a row, we are the first team to ever achieve the hattrick and this is only possible with the support of companies such as Blue Ribbon.
